Now that the iPhone 4S is all sold out and has proven its critics wrong, it has reached celebrity level. What do I mean by that? There’s now an option to reserve an iPhone 4S to ensure your societal status upgrade. Of course, there was some confusion surrounding the whole process. So we’re here to help you clear things up a bit.
First of all, it’s not mandatory, so to speak. You could walk into an Apple Retail Store, get lucky, and walk out with a brand new iPhone 4S without prior action. However, Apple doesn’t recommend this and has thus created the reservation option via their website. First off, visit there iPhone retail page and reserve a device between 9:00pm and midnight. When you’ve received confirmation of a successful reservation, hop over to your nearest retail store the next day between 9:00am – 6:00 pm. If everything goes right, there should be a shiny black or white device waiting for your oily fingerprints to drop its value by $50 on contact :).
Now, don’t play the fool who hops in there after 6:00pm demanding their device. Any device that wasn’t claimed between the set time frame will be up for grabs! Apple has the 9-6 pm time period set up to ensure ample time for the nightly reservation process.
So, to recap:
- Play Angry Birds on your iPhone 4 until 9 pm
- Make a reservation for an iPhone 4S (choose store, select model, sign-in, confirm)
- Set a reminder to get to your retail store between 9-6 pm the next day
- Go home with an iPhone 4S
- Ask Siri awkward questions
- Thank us (you’re welcome)
