The Wall Street Journal has a new tipper, and apparently the iPad 3 won’t be available until next year, unlike all of those rumors circulating the Internet suggest. According to the source the next iPad will have a 9.7-inch screen, and come complete with a 2048×1536 resolution display, putting it right in the Retina display sweet spot.
At this point it’s another rumor in a sea of rumors, but if anything, this one makes a little more sense. Which is kind of hilarious if you ask us, considering the amount of hype and rumors that were churned out over the last couple of months suggesting that an iPad 3 would be released some time this year. For those keeping score, that pretty much means the iPad 3 would fall directly back into the traditional release schedule that we’ve seen over the last two iterations of the device, between January and March.
So there you have it. Not only should you not worry about buying that iPad 2 you’ve been eyeing, but now you should just hold off until after the holiday season and into the spring.
All kidding aside, if you want an iPad, go buy it. You won’t be disappointed.
