Back in May we reported that Qualcomm was moving to bring their augmented reality software kit to the iPhone. It was already available for Android at the time, so the realease was expected to put the competing operating systems on even ground. On Wednesday Qualcomm launched their SDK for iOS.
The SDK is compatible with the iPhone 4, fourth-generation iPod touch, and iPad 2, leaving behind all the previous generation devices. In some cases it makes sense, like the iPhone, but with the original iPad still in a lot of homes, it’s a bit of a head scratcher that they left it off the docket.
