Microsoft’s Mac Business Unit (MacBU) has released security updates for both Office 2004 and Office 2008 for Mac. These security fixes close some Excel holes which could lead to arbitrary code execution and were fixed on the Windows side with this month’s updates as well.
These updates are available by going to Help -> Check for Updates within any Office for Mac application. The update is about 154MB or thereabout, and is a combo-update, which includes all of the previous Office 2008 patches.
This update is highly recommended for all Office 2008 for Mac users.
For the less-detail oriented, or if you wish to obtain a copy of the update for Off-line installation (or in a big environment) head to Microsoft’s KB Article 968694 and download the link.
