If you’ve been looking for a way to write your blog posts without having to log into WordPress (or any other CMS), there’s probably a good chance that you’ve come across Red Sweater Software’s MarsEdit. It’s definitely one of the most used blogging applications currently available on the Mac platform.
Daniel Jalkut has finally gotten around to putting up MarsEdit 3, and it solves a lot of the complaints users have had over the years. Most notable for us here at Macgasm is the ability to access custom fields for a post. It was a deal breaker up until now, so we’re excited to give it this application spin around the proverbial block now that custom fields have been included.
Also included in this version is the highly anticipated “WYSIWYG” text editor which was previously missing in action, as well as seamless integration with iPhoto, Aperture, and Lightroom.
Talk about taking your application to the next level.
Currently the application comes in at $39.95 for a single user license, and if you’re upgrading from version 2.x you’ll only be billed $14.95. But that’s not all, if you’ve purchased the application after January 1, 2010 you’ll get the update for free. How cool is that?
