Rene Ritchie at iMore has some solid advice for developers looking to design apps for the Apple Watch:
“When a device is more intimate, its interactions have to be more important: Otherwise, it risks turning notification into interruption. Likewise, when a device is more visible, its interactions have to be more discreet: Otherwise it risks turning information into embarrassment.”
His advice is very much in line with the idea that the smartwatch makes tech less rude and intrusive. And I think it’s safe to say that if your Watch app isn’t unobtrusive and narrowly focused, it likely isn’t going to go very far.
