Redmond’s taking Office a little more seriously these days. Microsoft has lowered the single-user prices for Office 365 from $99.00 to $69.99 per year, making it just a little bit easier to keep using Microsoft’s office suite in a world of free, or cheap, apps.
The personal subscription package lets users access Office from one Mac (or PC), and one tablet at a time.
This pricing drop shouldn’t be confused with Microsoft’s Home plan which allows for up to 5 computers and 5 tablets connected to Office 365 at $99.99 per year. The home plan rates remain the same.
Also included in the personal plan is 20 GB of online storage, and 60 minutes of free world Skype calling per month.
Our own Michael McConnell took the new Office for iPad suite for a spin and came away quite impressed. He’s actually considering a switch to Office full time, which makes the timing of this pricing drop quite beneficial for anyone in similar circumstances.
