It’s that time of year again. iPad announcements a looming, barely in sight on the horizon. If you’re the type that pays attention to the news cycle, you probably know that the iPad release schedule now falls in October. With that, it’s inevitable that we start hearing rumors about upcoming devices this time of year. But, the thing is, we’re pretty sure tech news editors the world over have these rumors posts on an editorial schedule years in advance.
What do I mean? Well, the rumor du jour is about camera upgrades in the yet to be released iPad. Thing is, we’ve heard this thing before. Like when the iPad 2 was about to be announced, when the iPad 3 was about to be announced, the iPad 4, and now the iPad 5 and Mini 2. Ya, the camera will be better this time…
Here’s how many times we’ve heard it, complete with GIFs to describe my excitement levels every time I hear the rumor again.

Yeah, no shit. A new device will have better specs than the last one. The only person I’m willing to give a pass to is the iPad 2 rumor. There was no camera in original iPad so they were kinda-sorta out on a limb. But not really, considering there were immediate calls for a camera in the original iPad as well as a slot for a camera already. At this rate we’re guessing we’ll hear some kind of iPad 6 and iPad mini 3 camera rumors last week of September.
