Realmac Software has just released Ember, a new digital scrapbooking application for the Mac. Ember allows its users to add websites, photos, applications, and other content to collections. You can annotate these items and share them to social networks or to local users via AirDrop. The app is meant to be used to collect different things that inspire you and to keep them all in one place. For instance, if you’re designing an iOS app, you can add photos of your inspiration to Ember for later viewing.
Ember has a pretty interesting feature set as well. When adding iOS screenshots to Ember, your screenshots will automatically be sorted into phone and tablet folders. Saving websites to Ember is easy as well due to the fact that both Chrome and Safari extensions are included with your purchase. These extensions allow you to capture websites, photos, and other content to Ember right from your browser.
In the past, we’ve seen Realmac Software develop beautiful Mac and iOS apps such as Clear and Rapidweaver. Ember is no exception. The application offers a subtle yet elegant design for OS X with dark grays and contrasting orange coloring.
Ember is available for download right now via the Mac App Store. As of now, the app costs $49.99 and requires OS X 10.8.3 or higher. It’s also worth noting that Ember will replace LittleSnapper, Realmac’s current content clipping app.
