Love it or hate it, Apple is bringing its own Maps app to OS X Mavericks. Viewing Maps on your Mac will take full advantage of the graphics power so zooming in and out is flawless. You’re Retina display Mac will display a gorgeous Flyover view and an interactive 3D experience that lets you explore the world from the comfort of your couch with multi-touch gestures.
With Maps, you can easily access local information, like restaurants and hotels by showing your phone numbers, photos, and Yelp reviews. Like Maps for iOS, you can get point-to-point directions, real-time traffic conditions, and suggested alternate routes.
Maybe the best part of bringing Maps to OS X is that when you’re looking for directions on your Mac and realize you need to go, you can send your directions from your Mac directly to your iPhone through iCloud. It’ll appear as a notification right on your lock screen and, once you unlock your phone, it’ll bring you right to navigations as you’re running out the door.
