At WWDC 2013, Apple introduced a new feature for your Mac called iCloud Keychain, which means you’ll never have to remember another password again. With this service, iCloud Keychain will store all of your user names and passwords on devices that you’ve approved and protect them by encrypting them.
iCloud Keychain will keep all of your passwords up-to-date as well and automatically fill them in when you need them. The new Password Generator will suggest unique passwords for you when you’re setting up a new online account that won’t be easily guessed. Once a new password is generated it will be saved to your iCloud Keychain and filled in automatically so you won’t even have to type it, let alone remember it.
iCloud Keychain works with your credit card information too, so you can do all of your online shopping even faster. Credit card information is saved to iCloud Keychain and is made available anytime you need it. The only thing you’ll need to remember about your credit card is the security code.
All of your passwords are stored only on your Mac and devices that you approve and will automatically stay updated. They’re also protected with AES 256-bit encryption while on your device or in transit between devices.
